Our Unique Experience in Floodplain & Sustainable Development

Since NGM’s inception in 2003 we have been working with the New and Renewable Energy Centre (NaREC), GVA Grimley, MDA Consulting, OSM Homes, PRC Group and Cartwright Pickard Architects bringing together a full procurement and delivery mechanism for floating and flood resistant structures and communities.

This has included all the required research, engineering and feasibility studies to ensure that NGM's structures meet with all the UK's housing and industry standards.

Whatever the site being developed, NGM's developments utilise proven technologies and systems. Working with Zurich Building Guarantee (ZBG), the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) and high-street lenders, NGM has ensured that all its developments and structures are warrantable, insurable, come with normal mortgages and meet all UK standards and Building Guarantee.

In March 2007 Carl Nelson joined NGM as the Construction and Technical Director. He is responsible for design selection, procurement and co-ordination of the construction programme. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building and spent 24 years in the Royal Engineers before joining Zurich Insurance Building Guarantee as its Technical Manager, assessing Modern Methods of Construction for warranty purposes, providing technical policy and assistance to the Claims Department for high value claims and up-dating Zurich Building Guarantee Technical Standards.

NGM is also pleased to announce that Peter Borrows, previously the Environment Agency's Regional Flood Defence Manager for the Thames Region, is now a retained consultant for NGM to advise on all flood related issues through his new company Flood Consult. Peter has 25 years experience in flood risk management. Recently, he focused on aspects on flood resilience, particular in relation to the Thames Gateway area.

"Peter commented; I'm attracted to the sustainablilty offered by NGM and to demonstrate that people, the natural environment and flood risk can co-exist in flood plains."
